팀 여행자들은 제11회 서울미디어시티비엔날레 《하루하루 탈출한다》의 피드백 동반자 프로그램에서, 웹이라는 공간과 온라인이라는 방식이 가진 제약이 만들어내는 다양한 가능성을 탐구하는 온라인 오픈 스튜디오 프로젝트를 진행했다.
참여자들은 웹이라는 영토 내에서만 존재할 수 있는 가상 레지던스를 구성하고, 이를 통해 창작물을 관람객에게 어떻게 제시할 수 있을지, 그리고 어떤 감각적 경험을 제공할 수 있을지를 탐색했다.
‘최후의 날에 대비한 저장고(Doomsday Vault)’는 대홍수 동안 지구의 동식물을 보존한 성서 속 노아의 방주에 비유되며, 전 지구적 재앙 이후 생존자들이 사용할 수 있도록 식량의 씨앗을 저장하는 스발바르 국제 종자 저장고(Svalbard Global Seed Vault)의 별칭에서 영감을 받아 제작되었다.
삶의 양식이자 작업의 원천으로 보고, 듣고, 기록해 온 텍스트와 이미지를 정량적 기준에 따라 분류하여 저장고를 구성했으며, 이를 웹이라는 가상 공간 속 가상 레지던스 형태로 제시했다. 이 과정에서 저장고를 관람객들에게 어떻게 선보이고, 어떤 감각적 경험을 제공할 수 있을지를 탐구하는 동시에, 작업물을 단지 가상에 머무르지 않고 실재하는 형태로 구현하기 위해 한 권의 책이라는 물리적 매체로 엮었다.

Team Travelers participated in the Feedback Companion Program of the 11th Seoul Mediacity Biennale, One Escape at a Time, by conducting an online open studio project that explored the various possibilities created by the constraints of the web as a space and online as a medium.
Participants constructed a virtual residency that could exist solely within the realm of the web, investigating how to present their creations to viewers and what kind of sensory experiences could be offered.
‘Doomsday Vault‘ draws inspiration from the nickname of the Svalbard Global Seed Vault, which preserves seeds to ensure humanity’s survival in the event of a global catastrophe, much like Noah’s Ark preserved Earth’s flora and fauna during the Great Flood as described in the Bible.
Texts and images, collected as a way of seeing, listening, and documenting life, were categorized based on quantitative criteria to create a repository. This repository was presented as a virtual residency within the digital realm of the web, exploring how it could be shared with viewers and what sensory experiences it could provide. At the same time, the work was materialized into a physical format by compiling it into a book, moving beyond the boundaries of the virtual.
